Matt Rhule and the Nebraska Cornhuskers have to feel great about their most recent wide receiver commit. On Monday, it was reported that four-star Antayvious "Tay" Ellis from Crowley, Texas, committed to the Huskers. Ellis is a big-time wideout recruit. He checks in at 6-foot and 170 pounds and is ranked as the No. 41 wideout in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite. He's also from one of the most talent-rich states in the country from a recruiting perspective, and that's a pipeline that Rhule and the Huskers would love to continually plunder. According to the 247Sports Composite, Ellis is a top 50 recruit from Texas. Ellis took a visit on Saturday to take in Nebraska's game against USC. Though it ended up being a 21-17 win for the Trojans, the four-star came away feeling good about the Huskers. Part of that is his relationship with wide receivers coach Daikiel Shorts. "I spent a lot of time with coach Shorts. Our relationship keeps getting stronger every time we talk or link up," Ellis told 247Sports national analyst Tom Loy. "He keeps it real and just tells me how I'd fit perfectly in their offense and how they see me as a player who can come in and make plays early. We talked a lot about development, not just as a player but as a person too, and that really meant something to me." Culture and big picture help Nebraska get Antayvious Ellis Nebraska was certainly hoping for the win over USC, but you get the sense that the close loss to the Trojans, one of the bigger brands in college football, didn't impact Ellis one bit. In fact, he spoke about the grand scheme of it all after the game. "Big picture, what stands out about Nebraska is the culture and the people," Ellis told Loy. "Everyone there genuinely cares, from the staff to the fans. You feel that family vibe, and the program is clearly headed in the right direction. They're building something strong and I could see myself fitting in with that." This will also go down as a huge commitment for the Huskers because of the competition for Ellis' commitment. He has nearly 40 offers to his name, but notably, Nebraska beat out Texas, Texas A&M and Ohio State for this commitment.
