The cable channel, which was shut down at the end of 2021, is being revived as part of NBCUniversal’s recent long-term distribution agreement with Google. This agreement will see NBCSN included as part of its parent company’s offerings on the tech platform’s pay-TV service, YouTube TV, which currently has around 10 million subscribers. However, the announcement and timing of NBCSN’s launch have raised some eyebrows within the industry, considering the state of the linear business, which has been in constant decline, beaten down by the forces of cord-cutting.
