Queens residents Chulhae Li of, Flushing, and Kyong Ae Lee, of Bayside, recently made the purchase of a lifetime — winning the top prize in the New York Lottery’s Xtreme Money scratch-off game, lottery officials announced. The pair claimed the $5 million prize and opted to split a one-time lump sum payment, with each receiving $1,086,729 after required withholdings, according to officials. The winning ticket was purchased at a 7-Eleven store, located at 162-01 46th Ave. in Flushing. As of this writing, all top prizes on the Xtreme Money scratch-off game have been claimed. Valid lower-tier prizes may be claimed until July 30, 2026. Players can check the status of any New York Lottery scratch-off game by downloading the Game Report at nylottery.ny.gov. New York Lottery scratch-off games generated $4,339,794,048 in total sales during fiscal year 2024-2025. School districts across the five boroughs received $1,427,185,199 in Lottery Aid to Education funds during the same period.
