Myleene Klass stalker trial evidence was deemed ‘too traumatic’ to show her

The musician and presenter, 47, appeared in court in October to hear ‘distressing’ details of how an obsessive stalker sent her items with ‘sexual overtones’, including a Catwoman outfit. Myleene, 47, watched on as jurors at Birmingham Crown Court were told Peter Windsor, 61, sent her letters, jewellery, fancy dress outfits, and a firearm during a nine-month campaign of harassment between November 2023 and August 2024. She also gave evidence, speaking through tears about her ‘sheer terror’ upon finding out what the man had been doing, which also led her to increase her personal security at home. He was found guilty, despite trying to argue that some of his gifts were sent as a ‘joke’. Such gifts also included a whip, which he asked her to use to ‘correct him’, and a cane. Furthermore, he wrote a note that referred to Myleene as a ‘naughty vixen’, saying he had seen her in ‘provocative underwear’ in a newspaper. Reflecting on the terrifying incident and the subsequent trial in a new interview with The Times, the I’m A Celebrity icon said she would have preferred to know the full extent of what the stalker was sending. She said: ‘Everyone in court had a folder of evidence. But during the trial the clerk would be ordered to remove certain pages from mine. ‘I was censored from my own life.’ The former Hear’Say singer added: ‘I couldn’t see what the others were seeing. So I was wondering what else was in there. If an image of a gun was considered OK, what was not OK? It was deeply worrying.’ At the time, it never occurred to Myleene that she should insist on seeing the full evidence. It wasn’t until last August that the radio broadcaster was made aware of the mailing list, which now still haunts her as she imagines how dark it could have got. Myleene said: ‘I didn’t know that my family or myself were in any danger. ‘They asked me in court, “Has he come to your work?” I’ll never know. I sign autographs. I take pictures with people. I was a sitting duck.’ As well as the stalking of Myleene, Windsor was found guilty of targeting Classic FM presenter Katie Breathwick with letters and parcels. He previously denied the two charges against him but was also discovered to have sent Katie, 54, a pair of binoculars, spiked running shoes, champagne, and a stamp collection for her son. The pop star, seen here arriving at Birmingham Crown Court in September, sobbed as she recalled fearing for her family’s safety (Picture: Jacob King/PA Wire) Windsor also sent Myleene a firearm, which he said he did as a ‘joke’ (Picture: West Midlands Police/PA Wire) In total, he sent her between 80 and 100 items between March 2020 and December 2023. Katie also received some letters addressed jointly to her and Myleene. During his trial, prosecutor Tim Sapwell told the court: ‘The content was obsessional and demonstrated his obsessive interest in them.’ He said of Myleene: ‘She didn’t want any publicity about this. She just wanted it to stop.’ The lawyer added the star was left ‘very distressed’ by the correspondence and worried about the safety of her loved ones. Myleene has two daughters, Ava, 18, and Hero, 13, with her ex-husband Graham Quinn, and a son, born in 2019, with her current partner Simon Motson. Following the conviction of her stalker, Myleene said she finally had ‘peace’ (Picture: Yui Mok/PA Wire) When arrested in September 2023, police discovered maps of the capital in Windsor’s possessions, marking the women’s workplace. He also had women’s stockings, a glove, and binoculars on his wall. The prosecution said Windsor had a long history of mental illness, including a diagnosis of schizophrenia. Following his conviction, Myleene penned an emotional Instagram post, saying she finally had ‘peace’ after a ‘horrific year’. ‘Thank you for your love and support, especially to Birmingham Police, in particular PC Marius Dinescu, Judge Tom Rochford, State Prosecutor Timothy Sapwell, Members of the Jury and Birmingham Crown Court, Katie Breathwick, Classic FM, Global Radio, Severine Berman and Simon Jones’, she added.
