The Región de Murcia International Airport (Corvera Airport) is strengthening its network for the winter season, offering travellers increased options and improved connections. The winter schedule runs from late October through March, featuring flights to 11 national and international destinations operated by five airlines. New Tenerife route and expanded Barcelona service A major highlight this season is the launch of a new route to Tenerife Norte, which adds four weekly flights. This route provides residents and tourists with easier access to the Canary Islands, one of Spain’s most popular winter destinations. In addition, the Barcelona route, operated by Volotea, will expand from two to three weekly flights. This gives passengers more flexibility for trips to Spain’s northeastern hub, whether for business, leisure, or family visits. Key UK and Irish destinations continue Flights to major UK cities remain central to the airport’s winter schedule. London (Luton, Gatwick, and Stansted), Manchester, Birmingham, and Bristol will continue to operate regularly. Dublin flights will also maintain their schedule, reflecting the ongoing demand from both the British and Irish markets. The UK market is particularly significant for Murcia, representing the region’s largest source of international passengers. These flights play a crucial role in supporting tourism, local businesses, and the expat community living in Murcia. Airlines operating this winter Five airlines are currently scheduled to operate from Murcia Airport this season: Binter – Flights to the Canary Islands EasyJet – Services to the UK Ryanair – UK and Ireland routes Volotea – Barcelona Air Arabia – Nador, Morocco This mix of carriers offers a combination of low-cost and regional options, catering to both budget-conscious travellers and those seeking direct connections across Spain and Europe. Growing passenger numbers Murcia Airport has seen steady growth in recent months. In September, the airport welcomed 112,507 passengers, a 2.5 per cent increase compared to the same month last year. International traffic drove much of this growth, rising by 5.7 per cent, underlining the airport’s growing importance in regional economic development and tourism. Winter travel made easier With new routes and expanded services, Murcia Airport is set to offer a smoother and more flexible travel experience this winter. Whether flying for business, leisure, or family visits, the expanded schedule provides improved access to major Spanish cities, key UK destinations, and the Canary Islands. Passengers can expect a combination of convenience, affordability, and connectivity, making Murcia Airport a vital hub for both residents and tourists in the region.
