If you think fishing culture just comes with relaxation and peaceful days on the water, just look to Odessa, Texas, where all hell broke loose during a grand opening of a Bass Pro Shops. All captured on video for our popcorn entertainment, not just one, but multiple brawls erupted. Speaking with TMZ, the Odessa Police Department said that they issued a response Saturday over a disturbance that popped off around 2:52 p.m. local time. Police say that two men got into an argument while in a line to use the bathroom. (Wait, we’re acting like women now?) From there, things got violent. In the 2024-25 school year, Odessa’s school district was given a dreadful “D” rating by the Texas Education Agency, according to TMZ. The fights came only four days following the city announcing the grand opening of the store in a statement that read, “An exciting day in Odessa! Bass Pro Shops officially opened its doors with a Grand Opening and Evening for Conservation celebration,” per the outlet. It’s truly a sad day in America when you can’t even enjoy a grand opening and celebrate conservation without brawls breaking out … wow.
