MP urges people to nominate local businesses for a “Rural Oscar”

The Countryside Alliance Awards are split into six categories, covering the key areas across rural business. The categories are: Burtcher; Pub; Village Shop/Post Office; Local Food and Drink; Rural Enterprise; and the Clarissa Dickson Wright Award. The Clarissa Dickson Wright Award was created in 2013 with Clarissa’s full knowledge and support. The accolade centres on her belief in campaigning, educating and prioritising slow food, taste, quality and support for our farmers and producers. Mr Dewhirst said: “The Countryside Alliance Awards 2026 – the “Rural Oscars” – are now open for nominations! “These awards celebrate the local businesses, pubs and community heroes who go above and beyond for our community. “From village shops and local butchers to rural enterprises and pubs, the awards highlight the people keeping rural Britain thriving. “I encourage everyone in our local area to nominate their favourite rural business or project. It only takes a few minutes, and your nomination could help bring national recognition to Bridlington and The Wolds.” Nominations for the prestigious Countryside Alliance Awards are officially open, and rural communities across the UK are already rallying behind their local champions. Visit www.research.net/r/CAA26web to nominate a business in the Bridlington and The Wolds area.
