A mom from Arizona told Newsweek how she was left in tears after she pressed play on her baby monitor recording. Allie Osugi (@nurseallieo) shared footage of her husband, Travis, and their 3-year-old daughter, Sloane, winding down for bedtime in a reel on Instagram. In the clip, recorded from her daughter’s bedroom camera, Travis said to Sloane: “OK, let’s do our favorite person. One, two, three.” What happened next left Allie “ugly crying.” Without hesitation, both answer in unison: “Mommy!” “I like mommy,” Sloane said. “I like mommy too,” Travis replied. “Mommy’s so beautiful,” Sloane said. “I cried instantly,” Allie said of rewatching the footage. “This wave of gratitude hit me. I hit the jackpot with them.” In her caption, the 33-year-old business owner shared that the last few months had been challenging and feelings of guilt have crept in over time spent with her daughter. “Running a business that’s growing, leading a team of women, showing up for patients; it requires so much of me,” Allie said. “And then there’s this other part of me that just wants to be mom; the kind of mom who’s present, grounded and the best mom I can be for my daughter.” A still image captured from a baby monitor camera of Allie Osugi’s husband Travis and their 3-year-old daughter in her bed. Being in a constant push-and-pull made her question whether she is doing enough for Sloane—and how much she picks up. “I ask myself all the time, ‘I am doing enough?’ Does she know how loved she is, even when I’m stretched so thin some seasons? This clip felt like a reminder that she does,” Allie said. “That, even in the midst of it all, she still feels what we’re praying she feels—that love, care, safety, connection.” For Allie and Travis, Sloane is a miracle in more ways than one. She is their rainbow baby, born after the loss of their first pregnancy. “And even though she’s the freaking best, it’s still hard. Parenthood doesn’t come with a manual,” Allie said. “It’s just a lot of grace, prayer, and teamwork between my husband and me.” After watching the clip, the couple sat together, talking about how maybe they were doing all right. “About a year ago, I used to do affirmations with Sloane—‘I am strong, I am kind, I am loved, I am beautiful.’ And this felt like that reflected back,” she said. Allie’s reel has gone viral on Instagram, garnering over 1 million views. Many other users were also moved to tears after watching. “Crying! Love that you caught this sweet moment!” one user wrote. “When was the last time I haven’t cried for strangers on the internet?!” another added. Allie found the reaction emotional. “For me, it was a reminder that our kids don’t need us to be perfect, but to show up and care,” she said. “Whether it’s leading my team or raising Sloane, the goal’s the same: lead with heart, operate with intention and keep the main thing the main thing.”
