Mojacar Music Mile hits all the right notes for charity and community

Five unforgettable nights of live music, fun, coastal energy, and local pride brought Mojacar Playa to life — raising vital funds for sea rescue charity Equinac and celebrating the best of the town’s nightlife. Tito’s Beachbar takes the crown The inaugural Mojacar Music Mile Trophy 2025 wrapped up on October 25 after five lively nights celebrating the town’s beachfront bars, restaurants, and music culture – all while raising vital funds for local marine charity Equinac. The top prize went to Tito’s Beachbar, praised by judges for its “stunning interior and exterior spaces,” “gorgeous vibe,” and “highly professional team.” Their famously indulgent burritos even earned a special mention as part of the winning formula. Spirit of Mojacar shines through The Spirit of Mojacar Award was presented to PJ’s The Pie Shop, recognising host Nicky for her exceptional fundraising efforts and community spirit. Beyond serving some of the area’s most-loved pies, PJ’s has also become a local family favourite thanks to its child-friendly facilities, including a soft play area. Funds raised across the week will support Equinac’s ongoing mission to protect and rehabilitate injured sea life along the Almeria coast – a cause that remains close to the hearts of locals and visitors alike. Music, awards, and cocktails! Alongside the main trophies, a range of category winners showcased the depth of Mojacar’s nightlife: Best Cocktail and Mocktail Bar: Bar Zeppellin – for its signature Old Fashioned and the fiery alcohol-free Mojacar Mule. Best Nightclub: Maui – applauded for its glamorous, beachside chic. Best Rock Bar: Coco’s (formerly Pachamama) – recognised for its raw, authentic energy. Best Irish Bar: The Irish Rover – a nod to its trademark warmth and welcoming atmosphere. Best Beer Selection: De Tap Room – for its expertly curated range of craft beers. Treasure hunts and lasting memories Organisers and sponsors of the event, The Badlands Weekender Tabernas, added a playful twist this year, hosting a Treasure Island Beach clean – delayed by the unexpected discovery of contraband on the beach – and a family treasure hunt in collaboration with TEAMA Autism Support. The families were given a Treasure Hunt Kit, including pirate and sea creature costumes, gold nuggets, seed-filled cardboard hearts, and some large lobster claws – all part of Mojacar’s quirky, feel-good charm. As organiser Ashling Altisent Sans summed up: “Our visitors were thoroughly impressed with the magic of Mojacar. With community support, this could grow into a yearly treasure trail to showcase our gorgeous Playa.” Donations to Equinac can be made through here.
