‘The Young and the Restless’ Tamara Braun Reveals 'Amazing' Reason She Keeps Working On Soaps

Key Points Tamara Braun joins "The Young and the Restless" as Sienna, her fourth soap role. Braun credits loyal fans and steady work as reasons for staying in daytime soaps. She reconnects with former co-stars on "Y&R," including Roger Howarth and Matt Cohen. Tamara Braun is loving life on The Young and the Restless in the new role of Sienna. The CBS soap marks the fourth soap on which Braun has appeared during her nearly 25 years in daytime. Following her debut as Sienna, Braun opened up about why she wants to keep working in the soap genre. They’re amazing,” she expressed. However, Braun’s also grateful for the work. The fact is, not many people get to make a living as an actor. “It’s like 6%. So, whenever I have the opportunity to work, I love to do it,” the actress added. Aside from the consistency of work and the money, Braun expressed that soap fans are unmatched. “What other genre do we know of that’s been around this long? And the fans continually show up to see what’s happening, to see what’s going on with the people that have become family, for them to see who’s coming into the family, who’s leaving the family, who’s going on vacay, who’s coming back, who’s getting married, who’s having babies. It’s a way to grow. It’s a genre where you can grow with the stories, and you as an individual watcher grow alongside of it,” Braun spilled. In 2001, Braun kicked off her career by stepping into the role of Carly on General Hospital after fan favorite Sarah Joy Brown‘s exit. Since then, the actress has landed key roles on Days of Our Lives as Ava and All My Children as Reese. Braun also returned to General Hospital in 2017, taking on a new role as Kim. Working on Y&R reunites Braun with a few of her former co-stars, as soap icon Roger Howarth will soon make his debut on The Young and the Restless. The two were in the General Hospital at the same time, along with Matt Cohen, who just premiered on Y&R as Detective Burrows. Braun’s former Days of Our Lives on-screen son, Lucas Adams, is the new Noah and will be on-screen at the beginning of November sweeps. The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS.
