On November 1 at Turf Moor, Arsenal defeated Burnley 2-0 in the Premier League to continue their exceptional run of form, making it nine straight wins in all competitions. The latest win saw Mikel Arteta’s men travel to Burnley and keep another clean sheet on their way to three more points. Following this latest win, Arteta spoke at his post-match press conference, praising his team while explaining his injury concerns for withdrawing Viktor Gyokeres and Martin Zubimendi. Arsenal Extend Winning Run with 2-0 Victory Against Burnley Arsenal Injuries: Arteta Explains Substitutions of Gyokeres and Zubimendi The Gunners continue to pick up wins and look like a well-oiled machine. Their prowess at set pieces has been praised by many, and following a Declan Rice corner and a cushion volley from Gabriel, Viktor Gyokeres nodded home from close range to grab the opening goal at Turf Moor. Arsenal looked dangerous in the first half, with Leandro Trossard and Bukayo Saka both having opportunities to extend their team’s advantage. Amid some pressure from the home side, Arsenal launched a rapid counterattack. Saka found Gyokeres, who delivered a beautiful cross-field pass to Trossard. The Belgian produced a pinpoint cross that found Rice. The England international met the cross and powered his header home to extend Arsenal’s lead. Chances came in the second half for the Gunners, but the defence made sure there was no late drama, keeping their seventh consecutive clean sheet. Marcus Edwards hit the post for Burnley late on, but it was largely a comfortable afternoon for the Gunners. Praising his team, the Arsenal boss said: “Very happy. It’s a really tough place to come. They’ve lost once in 18 months, against Liverpool, with the last kick of the game from a penalty. I think we started the game exceptionally well. I think the first half was one of the best that we’ve played. Scored two goals, generated another two or three big chances and conceded nothing. “That was a platform because in the second half, we dropped the standards, especially with the ball and with our intentions to take more risks and play forwards. But again, defensively we were exceptional, till the point of the free-kick, we were a bit lucky that it hit the post and kept the clean sheet.” Arteta Delivers Latest Injury News Regarding Gyokeres and Zubimendi Praising Gyokeres, but explaining his decision to substitute him, Arteta said: “I think it was one of the best games that he’s played. I think overall his performance was exceptional, a part of the first goal. We had to take him off because he was feeling a little niggle, muscular, so we’ll have to wait and see.” Revealing that Zubimendi is injured and asked to come off: “Zubi as well, he asked to be subbed, so we’ll have to wait and see,” added Arteta.
