The company reportedly sent an internal memo to employees announcing job cuts in its Meta Superintelligence Labs division, the latest in a series of workforce reductions that began earlier this year, as per The Street report.Mark Zuckerberg’s memo outlines plans for Meta layoffsIn a memo first sent to employees in January, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg outlined plans to eliminate about 3,600 positions, roughly 5% of the company’s global workforce. The first round, which began on February 10, affected nearly 4,000 employees across the US, Europe, and Asia. Meta then faced backlash from some former employees who said they were rated “At or Above Expectations” in their 2024 mid-year reviews, as per the report.Live EventsIn April, another 100 employees in Meta’s Reality Labs division, which develops virtual reality headsets and other wearable technology, were let go.
