EXCLUSIVE: Comedian McKenzie Goodwin has wrapped production on Meeting Marsha, an indie comedy starring Elaine Hendrix (The Parent Trap), Lindsay Arnold (Days of Our Lives), and Groundlings Sunday Company alum Lizzy McGroder that marks her feature directorial debut. Meeting Marsha follows Lily (Arnold), an aspiring actress who has meticulously planned the perfect weekend to propose to her comedian girlfriend, Jordan (McGroder). As she’s about to pop the question, she receives a voicemail from her long-lost biological mother, someone she’s always yearned to meet. Eager, Lily invites her mysterious mother to their home, only to discover she’s none other than the infamous TV star Marsha Davis (Hendrix). As the weekend unfolds, tensions escalate and Lily finds herself torn between her love for Jordan and the desire for her mother’s attention. What should be an unforgettable weekend veers into chaos, revealing secrets and conflicts that threaten to turn everything upside down in ways no one could have anticipated. Goodwin directed from her own script and produced alongside Dani Abraham. Others in the cast include Caro Guzmán, Peter O’Connor, and Jamel Johnson. An L.A.-based multi-hyphenate whose work stretches across stand-up, podcasting, and on-screen projects, Goodwin is perhaps best known as co-host of the podcast Two Dykes and a Mic, which she launched in 2017 and has since grown into an internationally touring show addressing queer identity and relationships. She is repped by UTA. Widely recognized for her performance opposite Lindsay Lohan in Nancy Meyers’ Disney classic The Parent Trap, Hendrix just recently made another appearance alongside Lohan in Disney’s summer hit Freakier Friday. Recently competing on Dancing with the Stars, she’s also known for work in The CW’s Dynasty, Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion, and more. She is repped by Innovative Artists, Prime Talent Media, and Myman Greenspan Fox. Arnold is repped by Innovative, Luber Roklin, and Yorn, Levine, Barnes; McGroder by ATB Talent and Ginsburg Daniels Kallis; Guzmán by LA Talent and Mkr Mgmt; O’Connor by Blue Ridge Entertainment; and Johnson by Brillstein Entertainment Partners and Bloch Law.
