He shared, “I don’t really know what’s around the corner.” The Emmy-winning actor went on to explain his current storyline, “I’m trying to protect my son Michael (Rory Gibson).” Benard then went on to hint at a potential new relationship blooming for his character. “I have this new chick, she’s really good,” he said. “Her name is Nazneen Contractor and she plays ADA (Justine) Turner. She’s the ADA and I’m the mobster.” The actor teased, “It’s starting to get kind of interesting.” He then shared, “I haven’t had a chick in a long time, so we’ll see.” 🎬 SIGN UP for Parade’s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox🎬 Benard reflected on some of his iconic pairings from Sonny’s past. “Sonny and Brenda (Vanessa Marcil) was a big couple and then Sonny and Carly were a big couple.” The actor shared how he successfully portrayed that pairing with multiple actresses playing the part of Carly, “I did Sonny and Carly with three different actresses.” Over the years, Carly has been portrayed by multiple actresses including Daytime Emmy-winners Sarah Brown, Tamra Braun and Laura Wright.
