Think grabbing a bite at a classic diner or wandering through Boston’s outdoor winter market. We’ve rounded up five things happening Nov. 7 to 9 to help you plan the perfect weekend. Check out the list below and start making plans: Boston Snowport Boston’s popular outdoor winter market, held annually in the Seaport, returns on Friday, Nov. 7. New additions to this year’s lineup include six food concepts, the option to dine at a cozy oyster bar and a new sports venue with an ice skating rink. The Snowport Holiday Market will be open through Sunday, Dec. 28 and feature more than 130 local businesses. Santa visit If you’re looking for a family-friendly weekend plan, Santa visits and holiday fun are at the Yankee Candle flagship store in South Deerfield. Activities include writing and mailing a letter to Santa, taking a photo in a sleigh, finding surprises in a giant Advent calendar and participating in a holiday scavenger hunt — participants will have the chance to win a holiday prize pack valued at over $500, Yankee Candle’s website said. The event is hosted from 10:15 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily through Tuesday, Dec. 23. Eat at historic diners The Worcester Lunch Car Company built 651 diners that were shipped throughout the area, becoming some of the commonwealth’s most beloved culinary spots. Today, several of these historic eateries remain operational, offering visitors a chance to experience living history alongside their comfort food. Among the most notable examples is Casey’s Diner, which began as a 10-stool lunch car on wheels in 1922 in Framingham before being moved to Natick in 1927. The Boulevard Diner is another classic, established in 1936 on Shrewsbury Street in Worcester. Additionally, the Miss Worcester Diner has been serving breakfast at the same spot since 1948, right across the street from where the Worcester Lunch Car Company was built. ‘Downton Abbey’ art show “Downton Abbey” takes over the Prudential Center in Boston this week. "Fleurs de Villes: Downton Abbey" will transform the mall into an early 20th-century English estate through Sunday, Nov. 9. The free art exhibition will feature 15 mannequins, each inspired by characters from the award-winning period drama. Guests can also elevate their experience by heading to View Boston for a “Downton Abbey”-themed high tea experience. Fright Fest Even though October has wrapped for the year, Six Flags New England’s Fright Fest will be running until Sunday, Nov. 9. Fright Fest transforms the amusement park into a spooky, haunting experience with zombies, monsters, ghouls and more haunting the grounds.
