Daniel Cormier recently addressed the possibility of Jake Paul fighting Francis Ngannou in the squared circle and warned the former Disney star to stay far away from the former UFC heavyweight champion.Paul was scheduled to face Gervonta Davis in an exhibition boxing match on Nov. 14 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida. The fight was called off by the promoters after Davis found himself in new legal trouble last week. He was hit with a civil lawsuit filed by his former partner for alleged battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. In the aftermath, Paul's team was looking for a replacement opponent. Ngannou recently revealed that he was approached by Paul's manager to potentially replace Davis and face the ex-Disney star next. However, he made it clear that he wasn't interested at all.In a recent video uploaded to his YouTube channel, Cormier shared his reaction to Paul eyeing a fight against Ngannou and said:"I don't care what Anthony Joshua did to Francis Ngannou. If Jake Paul gets in there with Francis, Francis will knock his head off this planet. You don't want those Francis problems... Even if Jake got power, I don't think he's got the power to deal with Francis... If Jake actually fights Francis, I'll do nothing but give him credit."He continued:"You play stupid games, you get stupid prizes. The stupid prize will be fighting Francis Ngannou. I don't care what money Jake Paul would make; he shouldn't be fighting Francis Ngannou... Stay away from Francis Ngannou."Francis Ngannou reacts to being approached about potential Jake Paul boxing matchFrancis Ngannou recently sounded off on Jake Paul and his team for approaching him about a potential boxing showdown. The former UFC heavyweight champion believes the matchup makes "no sense" for him.In a recent interview with TMZ Sports, Ngannou explained why he was vehemently against stepping in as Gervonta Davis' replacement:“No. There’s no such thing happening. How can they go from Gervonta Davis to Francis Ngannou? I mean, Gervonta Davis is a fantastic boxer, but he’s a one-shot knockout artist. Come on, the weight difference and everything, it makes no sense."He added:“I’m like, ‘No bro, come on. Don’t disrespect me like that.' They even come out after and say, ‘What if the numbers are good?’ He sends out some number, and I’m like, ‘It’s not about the number. If it was about the number, we could have started up.’ I’m just not interested; it makes no sense for me. It’s not what I’m looking at right now.”
