Married at First Sight viewers are convinced one couple’s relationship is ‘doomed’ after a heartbreaking moment. This week, Steven and wife Nelly have been at the centre of drama, with the groom even coming under fire from the experts and viewers over his attitude and outbursts. He’s also made himself popular with the other brides, including April and Julia-Ruth, and has taken sides with Julia-Ruth during a row with Nelly. Things are still not looking good for the couple as they almost called it quits on the sofa earlier this week during the commitment ceremony. However, they decided to give it another go but Steven and Nelly are still struggling to make things work. On tonight's episode of the E4 hit reality show, Nelly broke down in tears as her marriage hit a breaking point. While speaking with Leisha and Reiss at the table about their relationship, Steven admitted "it feels like a break up". A concerned Reiss asked the couple: “Do you think that you both drop them walls for each other.” Steven didn’t mince his words as he replied: “Not fully. No.” It was clear Nelly was not expected to hear that as she tearfully remarked: “I did, I came into this I was open and vulnerable, I am hurt.” The bride was visibly moved as she added: “Even last night, I came back and I just cried. I was like, it feels like a breakup. I’m really sad.” Watching on behind the scenes, expert Mel said: “Watching Nelly tonight, it looks like she’s coming to that realisation that perhaps this is not the right relationship for her to be in and it’s all hitting her. And this is what we see at this end of the experiment, isn’t it? “Quite often, where things become really serious and they’re starting to think about this relationship in the context of the outside world as well.” Cutting back to the dinner scene, Steven said: “You do deserve the world, and I’ve said this before. But it’s like, I’m not doing things that you need.” Breaking down, Nelly replied: “Well I know so where do I go from here?” Viewers watching at home were quick to share their reaction as they insisted that the couples relationship is “doomed” and pointed out that Steven “doesn’t care”. One fan wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: “Nelly & Steven are doomed, but equally, sulking & moping isn't going to change his feelings #MAFSUK #MAFS.” Another fan said: “Steven doesn't care about Nelly nor does he respect her!!! #Mafs #MAFSUK #MAFSUK2025 #MarriedAtFirstSight.” A third commented: “Nelly, Steven is not your person, I can bet on that and he doesn't respect you.” Meanwhile another added: “Nelly and Steven need to leave the experiment, their relationship is not healthy at all.” Since being on the show, Steven has shocked fans as he constantly bad mouths his wife and last night was no different. They took part in Wife Swap, where the brides and grooms swapped partners for a few days and Steven was put with April, while Nelly went to live with Reiss. While having drinks with April, Steven blasted his wife, before quickly taking it back. April turned to Steven and asked: “What would Nelly be up to now?" Not holding back, he bluntly replied: “Probably in bed already… boring f***!” – before quickly apologising. MAFS UK airs Sunday to Wednesday on E4 at 9pm.
