Mark Sanchez booted from FOX Sports after violent brawl and stabbing incident

Former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez was reportedly "let go" from his job as a FOX Sports analyst following his involvement in a violent fight. TMZ Sports broke the news on Friday, which marked about a little more than month after he was stabbed during an argument that authorities said he provoked. We can confirm that Mark Sanchez is no longer with the network," a FOX Sports spokesperson said, per TMZ Sports. "There will be no further comment at this time." Police on October 4 said officers arrested Sanchez while he was being treated for stab wounds in the hospital. He was charged with battery with injury, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle, and public intoxication. According to a police affidavit, Sanchez, who reeked of alcohol, accosted 69-year-old Perry Tole after Tole backed his truck into a hotel’s loading docks in downtown Indianapolis on October 4. In a lawsuit that was later filed, Tole said Sanchez entered the truck without permission, then physically blocked and shoved Tole, who then doused Sanchez with pepper spray. When Sanchez advanced after being sprayed, Tole pulled a knife to defend himself, authorities said. Sanchez, who is 38, was previously drafted to the New York Jets in 2009, where he played through 2013. He then played for the Philadelphia Eagles from 2014 to 2015; the Denver Broncos, as well as the Dallas Cowboys, in 2016; the Chicago Bears in 2017; and the Washington Commanders in 2018. He retired from the NFL in 2019 and later became a sports analyst. _______________
