Mario Balotelli Hits Out at Patrick Vieira After Genoa Sacking in Social Media Rant

Mario Balotelli sent a savage message to Patrick Vieira following his sacking as Genoa boss, saying that "Karma is a b****". The Premier League legend was sacked as Genoa manager after less than a year in charge, with the club sitting bottom of Serie A after a torrid start to the season. Balotelli and Vieira have a checkered past and have crossed paths on a number of occasions. The Italian striker played under Vieira at Nice before joining Genoa in October 2024 — one month before the Frenchman followed. While it was Alberto Gilardino who oversaw Balotelli's arrival, it was Vieira who managed the striker before he left the Italian side in the summer. During their time together in France, Vieira suggested that Balotelli's mindset 'isn't made for team sports' and that 'it's very difficult for me to work with him'. Balotelli then barely featured under Vieira during their time together in Genoa last term. Mario Balotelli Delivers Scathing Patrick Vieira Verdict Following Vieira's sacking, the ex-Manchester City star took to Instagram with a lengthy message aimed at Vieira. he wrote on Instagram: "Karma is a b****. "God sees everything and takes care of the rest. Now Genoa can finally focus on people who really like the environment, supporters and the badge and who deeply believe that Genoa deserves to be at the top. "The excellent work done by Gilardino and Zangrillo was not in vain. It was simply exploited in a selfish and dishonest way by those who succeeded them, taking advantage of what they had built with relentlessness, respect and passion. "They exploited the immense work of Gilardino and Zangrillo, their commitment and dedication to these colours, without really understanding their value." The news of Vieira's sacking came just months after he signed a new contract with the club amid links to Inter Milan. Confirming his sacking, the club wrote: "Genoa CFC announces that Patrick Vieira is no longer the coach of the First Team. "The club would like to thank the coach and his staff for the dedication and professionalism they have shown throughout their work and wishes them all the best for their future careers. "The technical leadership of the First Team has been entrusted on an interim basis to Mister Roberto Murgita, assisted by Mister Domenico Criscito." Genoa are next in action on Monday when they travel to face Sassuolo in Serie A.
