Fresh from the World Travel Market in London, Calvia is pushing the boat out on the main streaming platforms. While two old hotels are being demolished in the municipality, the famous resort of Magalluf, which last month hosted the ABTA convention, takes centre stage in the latest episode of the documentary series Ecos del Mar, ‘Calvià- Horizonte sostenible’ (Calvià- Sustainable Horizon), now available on Prime Video Spain and Apple TV. This production, which focuses on coastal sustainability and marine protection, closes its first season with an episode dedicated to the municipality of Calvia. The video features testimonials from Elisa Montserrat, Deputy Mayor for Tourism, who talks about the octopus sanctuary project; architect Jose Luis Mosteiro, who explains the transformation of the Paseo Marítimo sea front and elements such as the new dunes that are now part of the Magalluf seafront landscape; and Aniol Esteban, director of the Marilles Foundation, who talks about the island of Sa Porrassa. The episode covers various initiatives promoted by Calvia Town Council, from the renaturalisation of beaches to the restoration of historic sites, including the protection of the island of Sa Porrassa and the ambitious project to create an octopus sanctuary. The series highlights how the municipality has managed to transform its present by looking to the future, with nature as its guide. Ecos del Mar is also premiering on Sun Channel, the leading Spanish-language tourism channel, broadcast throughout Latin America and the United States. In addition, the series plans to expand its international distribution by joining the Love TV Channels catalogue, through the Love The Planet channel, available on Pluto TV, Orange TV, TVify and other platforms in Spain and Europe. With this expansion, Ecos del Mar reinforces its position as a leading series on the sea, sustainability and responsible tourism. The production team has expressed its gratitude to Calvia Town Council for its collaboration, which has helped to showcase the natural, cultural and tourist value of the municipality on a global level.
