Ravindra Jadeja looks highly likely to make his return to Rajasthan Royals (RR) after 17 years in exchange for Sanju Samson. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are reportedly interested in bringing in Samson from RR and they are ready to release their star all-rounder. Apart from Jadeja, CSK could let go of another player. Dhoni was India and CSK's captain when Jadeja joined the Yellow Army and he would have had a big role in bringing the all-rounder to the franchise. In 2022/23, there were reports of Jadeja being upset with the franchise but he stayed with them in IPL 2023. Jadeja quashed all the rumours by sharing a heartfelt post for Dhoni after propelling CSK to their fifth IPL trophy in 2023. "We did it for ONE and ONLY “MS DHONI.mahi bhai aapke liye toh kuch bhi," Jadeja wrote. His post from May 2023 is once again viral on X. It has more than 5.5 million views and has been reposted by more than 47k users. Jadeja was appointed CSK's captain for IPL 2022. The team management sacked him from captaincy after 8 matches and replaced him with Dhoni. Jadeja was later ruled out of the season due to an injury.
