Lutheran Social Services begins renovations at L.E. Phillips treatment center

CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WEAU) - Lutheran Social Services is beginning work to return treatment services to the Chippewa Valley. As we have reported, the L.E. Phillips Treatment Center for Substance Abuse closed early last year. In April, nonprofit Lutheran Social Services, or LSS, purchased the property. Now, after months of planning and fundraising, LSS is beginning renovations that will bring treatment back to the community. “Individuals needed to travel hour away to receive much-needed services. For us to be able to come in and now be able to provide those services, only through the generosity of the community, warms our heart and we are so happy that we are able to rise and make this a reality,” said Hector Colón, the CEO of Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin and upper Michigan. LSS says they expect renovated treatment center to offer 50 beds at a time.
