Louisiana data on cancer death rates in each parish

In 2023, more than 9,000 people in Louisiana died from cancer, at a rate of 165.1 cancer-related deaths per 100,000 people. That's higher than the U.S. cancer death rate at 145.4 cancer-related deaths per 100,000 people. According to data from the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities, Louisiana had the eighth-highest cancer-related death rate in the country. Kentucky took the top spot with the highest cancer-related death rate with 180.4 deaths per 100,000 followed by Mississippi with 179 deaths per 100,000 and West Virginia at 177.9 deaths per 100,000.
