Live: Wall St driven higher by Amazon surge, ASX flat ahead of RBA decision and Westpac results

Good morning and welcome to another day on the ABC markets and finance blog. Stephen Letts from ABC business team limbering up for a blow-by-blow coverage of the day's events, where every post is hopefully a winner, but none should be construed as financial advice. In short, it looks like the local market is struck by indecision ahead of tomorrow's RBA meeting. While the key Wall Street indices all made gains on Friday, ASX futures are pointing to a marginal loss this morning (-0.056%) — a few hundredths of a per cent higher and we'd call it flat. There's a bit of news about this morning. Westpac will release its full year results before the market opens — the consensus punt if for a cash net profit of around $6.8 billion. October's house prices are already out with a 1.1% increase recorded across the eight capital cities, up from the 0.9% gain in September. The ABS will release Building Approvals and its Household Spending Indicator data for September a bit later in the morning. As always, the game's afoot, so let's get blogging.
