Legendary quarterback joining FOX Sports as NFL analyst

Former New Orleans Saints star quarterback Drew Brees, who is one of the most prolific passers in NFL history, is joining FOX Sports as an NFL analyst, according to Andrew Marchand. Brees is joining FOX Sports in a full-time role and could replace Mark Sanchez, Marchand reports. Sanchez was charged with attacking and seriously injuring a truck driver last month in Indianapolis. Drew Brees has signed a multi-year deal with FOX and will begin working games with the network on Sunday, Nov. 16, according to Marchand. His exact debut game is not yet known. A former Purdue star, Brees ranks second all-time in the NFL in passing yards with 80,358, behind only Tom Brady. The majority of those yards came while Brees was with the New Orleans Saints, where he played from 2006-2020 before retiring. He has previously called games for NBC and Netflix and has also worked studio shows for FOX and ESPN, according to The Athletic. Marchand reports that Brees will work alongside play-by-play man Adam Amin. In addition to Brees, FOX Sports already has an impressive lineup of NFL analysts that includes arguably the greatest quarterback of all time in Tom Brady and three-time Pro Bowl tight end Greg Olsen. Drew Brees starred at Purdue from 1997-2000, before being selected by the Chargers in the second round of the 2001 NFL Draft. He stayed with the Chargers through the 2005 season, before signing with the Saints and spending the rest of his career in New Orleans. Brees won a Super Bowl and Super Bowl MVP award in New Orleans. He was also named to the Pro Bowl 13 times and is a future Hall of Famer.
