At the bye week, the Cleveland Browns are a 2-6 football team and currently hold the No. 4 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Cleveland couldn’t stack wins in Week 8 against the New England Patriots after defeating the Miami Dolphins the previous week. It was an all-around collapse for the Browns against the Patriots, as they found themselves on the wrong end of a 32-13 result. Coming out of the game, the Browns have multiple injury updates. A physical matchup on the East Coast left them with several players banged up heading into the bye week. Rookie linebacker Carson Schwesinger’s ankle injury is the most significant, and he is expected to miss multiple weeks. Browns RB Quinshon Judkins dealing with an injury going into the bye week “Tyson Campbell’s in concussion protocol, Rayshawn Jenkins is dealing with a groin injury—he’s really day to day,” Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said on Monday. “Quinshon Judkins is day to day with the shoulder, and then Carson Schwesinger has an ankle injury. We’ll see how he looks coming out of the bye, but I’d say that’s really a week-to-week type injury.” Judkins exited the game against the Patriots with 8:24 left in the third quarter and did not return due to a shoulder injury. New England’s front seven stonewalled the Browns’ offensive line, and Judkins took the brunt of that physicality. The rookie running back managed just 19 yards on nine carries. Despite the tough outing, Judkins has been a breakout player for the Browns this season, rushing for 486 yards and five touchdowns in seven games. Cleveland couldn’t be happier with its second-round pick, who looks like the perfect successor to Nick Chubb. Having the bye week should help Judkins recover from the shoulder injury, which is considered a day-to-day issue. Rookie running back Dylan Sampson has been most effective as a receiving threat, totaling 133 yards and a touchdown this season, but he would be asked to take on a bigger role if Judkins misses time. Fourth-year back Jerome Ford has primarily worked as a third-down option for his pass protection, though he can handle more carries if needed. The Browns won’t be back in action until they travel to face the New York Jets on Nov. 9 for a 1 p.m. ET kickoff. Week 10’s matchup is a winnable one for Cleveland, but they’ll surely need their rookie star in the lineup against a 1-7 Jets team allowing 136 rushing yards per game, which is ranked 25th in the NFL. window.addEventListener('message', function (event) {if (event.data.totalpoll && event.data.totalpoll.action === 'resizeHeight') {document.querySelector('#totalpoll-iframe-1524').height = event.data.totalpoll.value;}}, false);document.querySelector('#totalpoll-iframe-1524').contentWindow.postMessage({totalpoll: {action: 'requestHeight'}}, '*')
