Gurgaon Cab Driver’s Rude Reply To Passenger Over Low Fare: ‘Chala Ja Garib Android…’

Cab drivers often work long hours without a fixed monthly salary, relying heavily on the share of fares provided by mobility platforms. This can lead to frustration and anger, which in this instance was directed at a traveller when the fare for quite a distance turned out to be just Rs 235. A Reddit post highlighting the reaction of a Gurgaon-based cab driver went viral on social media. So, what happened? The traveller had attempted to book a cab online from Gurgaon to Delhi. While the driver initially accepted the ride, he later cancelled it after realising the fare was lower than expected. But what has left the Internet in shock is the driver’s rude response. Cab Driver Vents Out On Traveller After being rejected by the cab driver, the customer took a screenshot of their chat and shared the driver’s angry response in a Reddit post, which has since gone viral. From the screenshot, it is clear that the ride was booked via the InDrive app. The customer first received an automated message from the driver saying, “I am on the way,” to which the traveller simply replied, “OK.” But things took an ugly turn after the cab driver quickly discovered the price of the ride at his end and held no bars telling the customer, “Android ke app par hi beth ke chala ja 235 rupaye main garib (Sit on that android app and go on your own in Rs 235, you poor fellow).” Behaviour of Cab Driver at InDrive byu/Boring-Effective7861 ingurgaon Cab Driver’s Response Leaves Internet Shocked The screenshot, showing the cab driver’s angry response to rejecting a ride after seeing the fare, stunned other Reddit users, many of whom shared similar experiences while travelling. “I’ve had the same thing happen to me. Booked a cab from Sec 44, Gurgaon to Dwarka 21 Metro for Rs 299. Dude came and picked me up, and then started to cry about how low the fare is and cancelled the cab at Huda City Metro. Then I took a metro home( free ride to the metro station),” said an individual. Someone mentioned, “It should not at all matter to them how much you’re paying as a customer, in fact the price should be hidden, it’s between them and the platform.” “I have faced the same on InDrive. Talked to their customer support. They asked me to raise a police complaint. Useless support team, immediately deleted the app and never used again. Useless app,” commented another user. The customer whom the InDrive cab driver rebuked brutally wanted to travel to Dwarka Sector 16-C. Interacting with a fellow Reddit user in the comments section, this person confirmed they immediately cancelled the ride and booked another cab via Rapido.
