Los Angeles Lakers superstar Luka Doncic put on quite the show on NBA Opening Night, scoring 43 points to go along with 12 rebounds and nine assists in a dominant performance against the Golden State Warriors. To make matters worse, Doncic appeared to suffer a groin injury during the game. Doncic was seen grabbing at his groin numerous times late in the game. After the loss, he was asked about the injury, and brushed it off, but didn’t completely dispel all concerns regarding the matter. “It’s probably nothing,” Doncic said. “Just felt it a little bit because my hip went [the opposite] way. Doncic accounted for over half of LA’s points including his assists and played 40 minutes, more than anyone else on the court. The Slovenian superstar was spectacular, making 17 of his 27 shots. He struggled from deep, however, going just 2-for-10 on 3-points attempts. Doncic and the Lakers will have two days off before their next contest on Friday, a rematch of last year’s first-round playoff matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves, who are facing the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday to kick off their season. Friday’s game tips off at 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. PT and will be broadcast on Amazon Prime.
