Kris Boyd has questioned Rangers decision to part with a number of goal scorers with misfiring £8million summer recruit Youssef Chermiti feeling the wrath of the Ibrox hero. It was suggested earlier this week that the Ibrox club are already ‘open’ to the idea of letting former Everton striker Chermiti leave in the January window, having struggled since arriving in Glasgow. He drew another blank in front of goal during Sunday’s 3-0 Premiership win over Dundee at Dens Park and speaking on Sky Sports, Boyd conceded: “The recruitment, the numbers in terms of goals that's went out of the dressing room is incredible when you think of Dessers 29, Cerny 18, Igamane 15 or 16 goals, to being replaced by Chermiti who, I'm sorry, you'd be asking questions of if it was £800,000 spent, never mind £8 million. “Miovski looks a pale shadow of the player that he was at Aberdeen. Danilo was brought in a few seasons ago for £6 million and I've yet to see that as well. So there's big problems at Rangers because they've invested a lot of money in players that will be on long-term contracts. “It's easy to say it’ll take one or two transfer windows. The difficult part is going to get these players out because I've said it for a number of months now, they're at the glass ceiling. They're all on really expensive wages, that's not the players’ fault - the club has decided to give them that. So it'll be interesting to see how the next transfer window pans out.” Fellow pundit James McFadden chimed in, questioning what faith fans will have in the current hierarchy to bring in the right players given the sub-standard signings made during the summer. Danny Rohl has been praised a little bit in terms of the defensive unit. Max Aarons on loan, Djiga on loan, Meghoma on loan, Cornelius on loan.. you can't build a team with loan players if you want to be here for the long term.” Celtic legend Chris Sutton was in agreement, adding: “They're in a similar situation to Celtic, they've got to get to January. It's difficult for Danny Rohl, he's taken over a team low on confidence. “I agree with everything Kris says about the recruitment, have they got a better team, Rangers, than they had last season? The amount of goals which have come out of the team, have they replaced them? “In many respects that puts more pressure on the players as every week which goes by and they don't score, the pressure builds. He still doesn't know his best eleven and that's what he's striving to do but it's very difficult because of that expectation to win games.” Your next read: Danny Rohl explains bizarre triple Rangers half-time substitution vs Dundee as stars urged to continue revival
