The Renegade G5 8 TB offers incredibly fast read and write speeds, offering plenty of space for storage without compromising on the transfer speeds. Kingston Fury Renegade G5 SSD Released in 8 TB Capacity; Up To 14,800 MB/s/14,000 MB/s Sequential Read/Write Speeds Only a handful of storage manufacturers have promised up to 14,900 MB/s of read speeds, such as Corsair, which recently launched MP700 PRO XT, and TeamGroup's T-Force Z54E, which use Phison's flagship E28 controller. Similarly, SSDs that promise to reach 14,800 MB/s are also very few, particularly in high capacities, and while enthusiast-grade mainstream SSDs like Samsung 9100 PRO are present in 8 TB capacity that promise up to 14,800 MB/s, they max out at 13,400 MB/s sequential write speeds. Kingston Fury, on the other hand, just released its highest capacity PCIe 5.0 8 TB SSD, which promises to break this limit and claims to have reached 14,800 MB/s in read and 14,000 MB/s in write operations. Kingston just announced that its Fury Renegade G5 SSD lineup just got the 8 TB version for enthusiasts who want to have a lot of storage room for large files, such as games, high-fidelity videos, and more. Whether for work or play, users need more power and space, We’re happy this 8TB addition to Kingston FURY Renegade G5 SSD can provide high-power users and hardware enthusiasts both. - Keith Schimmenti, SSD business manager, Kingston The Renegade G5 PCIe 5.0 SSD was already available in 1 TB, 2 TB, and 4 TB capacities, and Kingston did announce previously that it would release the 8 TB variant in November. While Kingston hasn't revealed the pricing and availability of the 8 TB capacity, it's surely going to be very expensive. The Renegade G5 uses a PCIe 5.0 x4 interface and uses the 218-layer BiSC8 3D TLC NAND to achieve high capacity. The SSD uses the Silicon Motion SM2508G controller, which Silicon Motion claims to be more power-efficient than Phison E28. However, Phison has previously debunked it, claiming otherwise. That said, both are solid when it comes to efficiency, and high sequential read and write speeds, and the Renegade G5 8 TB is the first high-capacity SSD to reach such read/write speeds. Kingston FURY is offering a 5-year warranty on all of its Renegade G5 SSD variants, including the 8 TB version.
