A video circulating on social media shows a kindergarten teacher in Fergana Region asking children what their father smells like. The incident prompted an official response from the Fergana Regional Department of Preschool and School Education. According to the statement, the situation occurred at Preschool Education Institution No. 1 in Furqat District. The teacher, identified as S.O., conducted an unsanctioned oral survey not included in the educational program. The video of the survey was shared in a Telegram group meant for the parents of the preparatory group. During the internal review, teacher S.O. admitted that she carried out the survey on her own initiative without considering the possible consequences and regretted posting the video in the parents’ group. The investigation also examined the teacher’s professional documentation in accordance with the Ministry of Preschool and School Education’s Order No. 323 dated August 29, 2025, which regulates recordkeeping for preschool teachers. Several deficiencies were found in her documentation, and she was issued a written explanation for conducting activities not aligned with the approved curriculum. As a result, disciplinary action was taken against S.O., and she received an official reprimand (“hayfsan”) in accordance with legal procedures. Earlier, it was reported that in Syrdarya Region’s Akaltyn District, two teachers at the private “Shodlik” kindergarten forced a child to apologize while crying. Following that incident, both teachers were dismissed from their positions.
