The reality TV star, 45, turned actress plays a top-drawer divorce attorney Allura Grant on the show, which follows a team of female lawyers who leave a male-dominated firm to open their own powerhouse practice. The series boasts a cast full of acclaimed stars including Naomi Watts, 57, Glenn Close, 78, Sarah Paulson, 50, and Niecy Nash, 55. But after watching the pilot, many viewers were left baffled by Kim’s prominent role in a series starring award-winning actresses. Her performance was called 'stiff' and 'monotone' with another fan writing on X, 'Kim Kardashian cannot act and she need to stop touching her face.' 'Lmao Kim is so monotone I can't,' another wrote. 'All those amazing actors and Ryan Murphy puts Kim Kardashian in it too.... WTAF?????#AllsFair' 'Why is she so stiff?' one questioned. 'Need to understand why Ryan Murphy entertains Kim Kardashians acting career.' 'Yeah casting Kim Kardashian was the worst mistake they could’ve made for this show… it ruins the tone immediately because she cannot act. WHY WHY WHY,' another asked. The episode started out with Kim as Allura, and Naomi, who plays Liberty Ronson, ten years prior, as they air their frustration about women not being taken seriously at male dominated law firms. Glenn, who plays Dina Standish, overhears their conversation, and shares her own story with them, telling the ladies, 'Until I hired you, I was the only woman here.' 'But now is a different time. All I ask is that you start your own firm. You don't go somewhere else in this building,' she advises them. 'That's what we want, our own boutique,' Allura tells her. 'Women representing women, only,' Liberty chimes in. Dina then allows them to take either a lawyer or staff member with them. They pick Niecy, who stars as Emerald Greene. Emerald hesitates to accept their offer, but Allura promises to make her full partner and a multi millionaire 'within two years.' They then bump into Paulson, who stars as Carrington Lane. She complains that they didn't ask her to come with them, despite her having the most billable hours. The episode then fast forwards to present time, with Allura arriving at her stunning mansion where a chef is pictured preparing her dinner. She then showers and changes into a glamorous plunging white gown to have dinner with husband Chase Munroe, played by Matthew Noszka, 32. 'Hi, you're late,' she tells him, as he walks in. 'Oh sh*t. What did I forget?' he asks. She tells him it's their anniversary. Allura then straddles him as they share a steamy kiss The next scene shows Allura, Liberty, and Emerald admiring her new ring and celebrating ten years of their firm being successful Teyana Taylor, who stars as legal assistant Milan, then brings them a suspicious edible arrangement, which turns out is from Carrington Liberty then introduces their next client, Grace Henry (Grace Gummer), who is divorcing her billionaire husband named Lionel Lee As she walks out, Milan gets a text message from Allura's husband Chase that reads, 'I can still smell you on me...' 'F**k me raw. Baby, I'm so sorry,' he tells her, adding he forgot because it's 'football season.' 'Aren't you glad I have a healthy ego? If not, I'd take this personally,' she tells him. 'Baby, I hate myself,' he tells her as he approaches her. 'For not giving you this, this morning.' He then takes out a box with a stunning diamond ring in it. 'Oh my God, didn't this belong to Elizabeth Taylor?' she asks. 'I know how much you love her,' he tells her, 'Even though I have no idea who she is.' He then tells her, 'Happy anniversary baby. Come to Daddy.' Allura then straddles him as they share a steamy kiss. The next scene shows Allura, Liberty, and Emerald celebrating ten years of their firm being successful. Teyana Taylor, who stars as legal assistant Milan, then brings them a suspicious edible arrangement, which turns out is from Carrington. It includes a nasty note from her, boasting about her own accomplishments and making fun of the ladies. Meanwhile Allura encourages Milan to continue studying to become a lawyer, and tells her she will help her. Later, Liberty and Allura go digging for dirt on Grace’s husband, and uncover some of his bizarre sexual preferences The lawyers then meet with Grace and her estranged husband, as they confront him with what they discovered, and he quickly agrees to pay Grace the sum she wants However, Allura's victory is short-lived. When she returns home, her husband tells her he's 'not happy' He accuses her of gaslighting him, before asking for a divorce and letting her know he's seeing somebody else At the end of the episode Allura's pals Liberty and Emerald come to comfort her. Allura tells them she always worried Chase would leave her for somebody younger because she is ten years his senior She then questions: 'Are the best years behind me?' Liberty tells her, 'No! F**k no. The best is yet to come.' Emerald tells her she has bad taste in men and likes 'rough trade' However she ended up being a trophy wife to a billionaire tech titan named Lionel Lee. The ladies are worried something is not adding up, because Grace is asking for so little in the divorce. As she walks out, Milan gets a text message from Allura's husband Chase that reads, 'I can still smell you on me...' The ladies then meet with Grace and question why she's asking for so little. She explains that it's what she deserves. She tells the ladies how Lionel asked her to open up their marriage, and she and the other woman actually ended up falling in love. But the female lawyers convince her that she did nothing wrong, and deserves a much bigger payment in the divorce. Liberty then gets a frantic call from a Mrs. Baskin, played by Jennifer Jason Leigh. She flies out to meet with her, as her husband is attempting to kick her out because she cheated on him. Liberty helps her resolve the situation and leave the home with her incredible jewelry collection, which her husband was trying to prevent her from taking. The first three episodes of the show are now available to stream on Hulu in the U.S. and via Disney+ All's Fair was first announced in December, the first series under Murphy's new overall deal at Disney. It's reportedly partly inspired by Kardashian's actual lawyer, Laura Wasser, who represented her in divorce proceedings with Kanye West and Kris Humphries. All's Fair is created by Jon Robin Baitz (Brothers & Sisters, Feud: Capote Vs. The Swans) and Joe Baken. Kardashian, her mother and manager Kris Jenner, and Murphy will join Baitz and Baken as executive producers, with Jamie Pachino, Laura Greene, and Richard Levine also contributing as writers and executive producers. Close will join them as an executive producer alongside Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, and Scott Robertson. Kardashian is also currently pursuing a legal career in real life. The first three episodes of the show are now available to stream on Hulu in the U.S. and via Disney+.
