Khloe Kardashian recalled her awkward encounter with the founder of Barry’s Bootcamp, which included him criticizing her weight. During the Thursday, October 23, episode of The Kardashians, Khloé, 41, showed her support for her sister Kourtney Kardashian by attending an event at the gym, which brought up some surprising memories. “Remember when Barry called me fat?” Khloé asked Kourtney, 46, on the way to the venue. “This was years and years ago. We were running and I stopped and he said, ‘That is why you are fat.’ I said, ‘That is why I am here.'” Khloé didn’t expect Barry Jay, who got Barry’s Bootcamp off the ground, to comment on her body, adding, “I was fatter and we were working out. I remember taking a break because I couldn’t run and I remember thinking, ‘That is such a weird way to encourage people.'” She continued: “That was a different time. This was 2006 with The Biggest Loser, diet pills and you were allowed to call people fat. We never spoke after that. It was literally the whole exchange.” Kourtney shared the story with her friend Simon Huck, who then claimed Barry had died. After a confusing game of telephone, the trio clarified that Barry was still “alive and with us.” “That was a huge mistake. I can’t believe I started a rumor,” Simon, 41, joked before Kourtney replied, “I hope he isn’t offended.” Khloe has often discussed the challenges she faced with body image. The reality star rose to stardom after appearing on E!’s Keeping Up With the Kardashians from 2007 to 2021. “When the show first started, I was very secure, very secure,” Khloé discussed during the Keeping Up With the Kardashians reunion in 2021. “And then during the first couple seasons, I became insecure because of the public opinions of myself. Then I had, I think, a good run of being secure, and then I think recently I’ve become insecure again. So I guess it just goes, you know, up and down.” Khloé also addressed her history with plastic surgery. “For me, everyone says, ‘Oh my gosh, she’s had her third face transplant,'” she added at the time. “But I’ve had one nose job — Dr. Raj Kanodia — and everyone gets so upset, like, ‘Why don’t I talk about it?'” Khloé concluded: “No one’s ever asked me. You’re the first person in an interview that’s ever asked me about my nose. I’ve done, sure, injections — not really Botox. I’ve responded horribly to Botox.” More recently, Khloé revealed she would have tried Ozempic if it was available when she was on her weight loss journey. “When I was bigger, if they had Ozempic, I probably would have tried it. Because I tried [every]other thing,” Khloé told the cameras in a 2024 episode. “I tried any fad weight loss trend except for the real thing that actually works. And that is a lifestyle change.” Khloé went on to detail her current approach to working out and eating healthy. “I do circuit training with cardio intervals. I’m always spiking my heart rate up and down. For a shoot like that where I know I am going to be showing a lot of skin, I definitely work out much harder,” she explained. “And then I always celebrate with a full large pizza. Just cheese. I am a kid’s menu type of girl. But life is about balance.” Hulu releases new episodes of The Kardashians every Thursday.
