YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) spokesperson Konda Rajiv Gandhi on Friday (November 07, 2025) slammed the NDA government over the reported power outage at the King George Hospital (KGH) and its utter negligence towards public health. Addressing the media at Visakhapatnam YSRCP office, Mr. Rajiv Gandhi said that electricity was cut off for nearly 12 hours in one of the largest government hospitals in North Andhra and the government failed to provide even minimum alternative arrangements. Despite the Collector’s office being located right opposite the hospital, not a single official responded, he criticised. He alleged that during Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s tenure, the medical and health sector underwent a massive transformation, but under Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the State has fallen to a level where even basic emergency healthcare cannot be ensured for the poor. “From 12 noon to midnight, hundreds of patients suffered, including those undergoing critical treatment in emergency and specialty wards. Mothers who had just delivered babies, women who came for delivery, and children in paediatric wards faced extreme distress,” he added.
