Keith Andrews issues warning to his Brentford players ahead of Manchester United clash

Keith Andrews has warned his players that they will have to be at their best to counter a Manchester United side that includes former Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo this weekend. The Red Devils travel to London for the lunchtime kick-off on Saturday, with both sides struggling for form so far in the Premier League . Brentford have won just one of their five games so far, while United haven’t fared much better, with two wins from their first five matches. However, Andrews knows that Ruben Amorim’s side will carry a threat, with the former Bees forward among the dangermen that they will have to contain. “They've got a very talented set of players,” said the former Ireland international, who also served as assistant manager for his country under Stephen Kenny . “They have a very defined way of playing the game that they know very, very well. They've added some quality players; one who left this building to join them, who we're very well aware of. “They will cause us a lot of problems if we don't do things correctly. “I watched (Brentford’s 4-3 win over United last May) back this week, as well as their other games this season, because the personnel makes a big difference, especially at the top end of the pitch. “They've added Bryan, (Matheus) Cunha and (Benjamin) Šeško this summer, and we've looked at how they might be different compared to how they were when we played them at the end last season. “The system might be the same, but the personnel is different.” As for the return of former Brentford fan favourite Mbeumo, Andrews insisted that the Cameroon international would be warmly welcomed back to his former stomping ground. “I think Bryan should get a really good reception from the fans,” he said. “He epitomises everything good about this football club: he had six years at this club, arriving as a 19-year-old, he spoke very little English, and he developed as a man and as a person, with time, patience and support. “Last season was the culmination of a six-year journey, which so many people at the club played a part in. I know he appreciates that and the fans. “However, I don't want us to give him a good reception on the pitch! We know all about him, his qualities, and what a good player he is, so hopefully we nullify those and make it an afternoon he doesn't enjoy.” Get the latest sports headlines straight to your inbox by signing up for free email .
