Key Points Julianne Hough and Blake McGrath recreated the iconic Footloose line dance on Instagram. Hough wore an outfit similar to her character Ariel’s from the 2011 Footloose remake. Hough noted, “I can’t believe … people are still loving this dance so much.” Although it’s been 14 years since Julianne Hough starred in Footloose, she didn’t miss a step when reviving her famous line dance from the movie. The Dancing With the Stars cohost, 37, joined choreographer Blake McGrath in a Wednesday, October 29, Instagram video. “When @juleshough says let’s create Footloose #HalloweenWeek you run to @bristolfarms as fast as you can!” McGrath captioned the post. 🎬 SIGN UP for Parade’s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬 In the accompanying video, Hough — dressed in a white top, jeans and red cowboy boots similar to her character’s outfit in the movie — and McGrath both shopped for groceries in the freezer aisle of a store. After the two bumped into each other, they began dancing to “Fake I.D.” by Big and Rich featuring Gretchen Wilson. The duo effortlessly recreated the moves from the line dance scene in the 2011 remake of Footloose before walking in opposite directions. Oops! We’re unable to load this content right now. In the scene from the movie, Ariel and Ren leave their small town, where dancing is banned, to line dance at a bar with their friends and fellow patrons. The group enthusiastically grooves to “Fake I.D.” using the same choreography Hough and McGrath showcased in their social media post. Footloose follows Ren as he moves from Boston to a small Southern town, where he protests the ban against dancing. Dennis Quaid (Reverend Shaw Moore), Andie MacDowell (Vi Moore), Miles Teller (Willard), Ziah Colon (Rusty), Kim Dickens (Lulu Warnicker), Ser’Darius Blain (Woody) and Patrick John Flueger (Chuck) rounded out the cast of the 2011 film.
