The largest U.S. lender by assets has been bolstering its investment banking leadership as dealmaking and IPOs make a comeback amid soaring markets and lower rates. Sign up here. Hirschfield, who will be based in Chicago, was most recently a partner at Rothschild, where he established their Chicago office and led mid-west investment banking. Prior to joining Rothschild, Hirschfield was a senior banker at Goldman Sachs where he led the paper and packaging industry business within investment banking. JPMorgan has been on a hiring spree and earlier this month it named a former Bank of America executive as its global chair of investment banking and M&A. It also poached three senior investment bankers from Deutsche Bank and Goldman Sachs to expand its M&A team that caters to the business services sector. Investment banking fees at JPMorgan rose 16% in the third quarter and the bank has called it its "busiest summer" in a long time.
