Joey Lawrence‘s wife, Samantha Cope, is pregnant with their second baby together — his fourth — after their brief split and reconciliation. The couple broke the news to Entertainment Tonight on Tuesday, November 12, while attending the live taping of Dancing With the Stars’ 20th Birthday Party episode. Lawrence, 49, and Cope, 38, were asked about their matching outfits when the actor clarified it wasn’t intentional. “Nothing is planned. Not even this,” he said before pointing to Cope’s baby bump. “This isn’t planned.” Cope confirmed that she is feeling “great” before the pair revealed they are expecting a baby boy. “I got the older girls and then we have our little one, Dylan, who is 3, and then we got this little guy,” Lawrence gushed. “They are so excited. This one is a boy — first one ever — so everyone is excited that they are going to have a little brother. That is what is so cool.” Lawrence was previously married to Michelle Vella for three years before their 2005 split. He later tied the knot with Chandie Yawn-Nelson, and the pair were together for more than 15 years before ending their marriage. The former couple share daughters Charleston, 19, and Liberty, 15. Amid his divorce from Yawn-Nelson, Lawrence moved on with Cope while working on a Lifetime movie. “So, we met there and out of nowhere, you know, it was a crazy year and a half for everybody, obviously the whole world,” he exclusively told Us Weekly in 2021, referring to the COVID pandemic. “Then when you least expect [it], amazing things happen and meeting her has just been really the greatest thing ever.” The couple exchanged vows in 2022 and welcomed their first baby together, daughter Dylan, one year later. Cope filed for divorce from Lawrence after the pair quietly separated in June 2024. By the end of the year, however, the pair reconciled. Us confirmed in December 2024 that Cope had filed to dismiss her divorce petition. “Every situation will make you stronger if you’re willing to put the work in,” Lawrence told Us in August. “Life is a very imperfect, bumpy journey. We make all of our mistakes down here, I really do believe that. I know that for a fact, because I’ve made a ton and continue to make mistakes.” He added: “Everything takes work. Any relationship takes work, no matter what with friends, siblings — Matt, Andy and I put a ton of work into our relationship — and we continue to work through it as we grow, as we became men.” Lawrence told Us that he has made an effort “to put the work in” every day with “all my relationships” — especially with Cope. “I love her to death, and we’re just spending every day just working away at it,” Joey shared. “It feels good to put the work in and see results from that.”
