Veteran UFC commentator Joe Rogan has responded to former bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey after the controversial attack on the veteran Octagon favorite. Launching a scathing tirade aimed at the long-time promotional caller, inaugural bantamweight titleholder Ronda Rousey questioned the knowledge of Joe Rogan when it comes to combat sports at the highest level. And also mocking his storied background in taekwondo, Rousey claimed Rogan was far from an “expert” when it comes to combat sports. However, in his response to Rousey’s high-profile comments, Rogan admitted he was still a fan of the outspoken Riverside grappler. Joe Rogan believes the game caught up to Ronda Rousey Addressing Rousey’s comments, East Coast favorite Rogan claimed the game simply caught up to the former champion during the peak of her powers. Suffering memorable title fight knockout losses to both Holly Holm and then Brazilian powerhouse Amanda Nunes in her final MMA outing, Rousey’s world atop the sport came crashing down. However, while addressing Rousey’s comments, Rogan — who cited her defeats in the sport, insisted he had no ill-will toward the Judoka star. “I never had a bad thing to say about Ronda (Rousey), I still don’t,” Rogan said on his podcast. “I understand her mentality. I mean, she’s a champion-minded person. She’s like, ‘You’re f—— with me or against me. It’s me against the world.’ “She doesn’t have a chip on her shoulder, she’s got a forest — she’s got a whole forest on her shoulder,” Rogan explained. “That’s why she was so good. And we’re lucky she was a woman, if that lady was a man, she would be f—— Genghis Khan. She would take over the world. She’s an animal.” Joe Rogan gushes over Ronda Rousey’s record-breaking win During the peak of her powers at bantamweight in the UFC, Rousey enjoyed quite a stellar run. Besting six title challengers before her shuddering knockout loss to Holm, the grappling star broke a veteran Octagon record set by Andrei Arlovski. And gushing over Rousey’s performance in that fight in particular, Rogan claimed the bantamweight star’s armbar was something to behold. “There’s a fight with her and Cat Zingano,” Rogan said. “Cat Zingano just launches at her — Zingano was a f—— animal. Ronda catches her in an armbar in like 13 seconds (sic), I don’t remember the exact time. It was nuts. But it was perfect. Perfect technique.”
