With the NFL trade deadline set for Nov. 4, the Dallas Cowboys, who are currently 3-3-1, have been among the teams rumored to be looking to bolster their roster, particularly on defense. One name that surfaced in trade speculation last week was Las Vegas Raiders pass-rusher Maxx Crosby. Reports suggested that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones inquired about Crosby’s availability, as the Raiders sit at 2-5 this season. However, according to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, Jones confirmed that neither he nor the Cowboys’ front office have reached out to the Raiders regarding Crosby — and they likely won’t be in the market for a pass-rusher, despite being open to making moves to strengthen their defense. “While the Cowboys have signaled that they’re open for business ahead of the trade deadline, Jerry Jones told me they never reached out about Maxx Crosby,” Russini reported. Jones added: “I would say, without incriminating any area of it, it would be a defensive player. But not a pass rusher,” when asked who the Cowboys would likely target via trade. Parsons, also an elite edge-rusher, was traded to the Green Bay Packers for defensive tackle Kenny Clark and two first-round picks. While trading for Crosby would be a major boost for Dallas’ defense, it would also require taking on one of the largest defensive contracts in the league, running through the 2029 season — a move that would be surprising to see Jerry Jones make in the middle of the season.
