While details surrounding the incident remain unclear, Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones admitted after the game that even Diggs himself might not fully know what happened. The 25-year-old cornerback, who’s been a key piece of Dallas’ defense, was ruled out of Week 7 and is now in concussion protocol. Still, Jones and head coach Brian Schottenheimer both expressed optimism that Diggs’ absence will be short-term. Jerry Jones Addresses Trevon Diggs’ Concussion When asked about Diggs’ condition after Sunday’s win, Jones acknowledged that he had spoken with Diggs directly — but avoided giving any firm details about the cause of the accident. “I don’t know the combination of the injury and how it impacted, regarding concussion issue, I’m not sure that I know the detail of how that happened,” Jones said, per Dallas sports reporter Jeff Kolb on X (formerly Twitter). “He said what happened, and I’m not saying that didn’t happen. But a lot of times, you’re not the best viewer of what happened to you. … Yeah, no I won’t get into that [what Diggs said happened], but the bottom line is that I do expect him back.” Jones downplayed the severity of the situation, calling it an unusual mishap. “That was a fluke situation,” he explained. “I’m not expecting Trevon to be out long.” Head coach Brian Schottenheimer shared the same sentiment, noting that the team is eager to have Diggs return to the field. “Yeah, I’m a Trevon fan,” Schottenheimer said. “I’m excited to get him back, and hopefully it won’t be too long.” Cowboys Bounce Back With Big Win Amid Injury Uncertainty The Cowboys’ Week 7 victory over Washington was one of their most dominant performances of the season.
