Jason Kelce’s Hilarious Parenting Confession

Kylie Kelce’s latest podcast episode might just be her funniest (and most relatable) yet. The Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce host welcomed a very special return guest this week: Her husband, NFL star Jason Kelce. And in true Jason fashion, his big parenting confession was equal parts chaotic and heartwarming. In a teaser clip Kylie dropped on TikTok ahead of the October 30 episode, the Philadelphia Eagles legend (and Swiftie-adjacent dad of four) admitted that his favorite part of parenting has nothing to do with bedtime stories or family dinners. Nope — it’s scaring his kids. “Not gonna lie,” Jason said in the clip. “I like Halloween. Not for candy. I really enjoy scaring kids.” Kylie, laughing, confirmed, “He’s not kidding.” Jason went on to proudly admit that it’s one of his “great pleasures in life,” and that he tries to do it to his daughters “as often as possible.” A Frozen-Themed Family (and a Dad Who Lives for the Jump Scare) The couple recorded the episode in full Halloween spirit, dressed as characters from Frozen — Jason as Kristoff and Kylie as Olaf. (A pairing that feels hilariously on-brand for the Kelces, if we’re being honest.) Could this be a preview of the family’s group costume this year? With four daughters — Wyatt (6), Elliotte (4), Bennett (2), and baby Finnley (7 months) — there’s bound to be at least one Elsa in the mix. But one thing is for sure: There will be jump scares. Jason laughed as he described how simple it still is to spook his little ones. “Right now it’s as easy as making a ghost noise,” he said, before giving a pretty convincing “ooooohhhh.” Kylie chimed in, “He’s dead serious — he hasn’t lied one time.” Of course, the scare sessions don’t last long before the kids call for backup. “The worst part is that he doesn’t even get a second into it before all I hear is, ‘MOMMMM!’” Kylie joked. 🎬 SIGN UP for Parade’s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬 “It’s Good to Be Scared Sometimes” While Jason clearly loves a good jump scare, he also gave his antics a surprisingly philosophical spin. “It’s good to be scared sometimes,” he said. “It’s a good emotion to feel, and as human beings in this civilized society that we live in, we don’t really get scared very often.” He even admitted that Kylie recently turned the tables on him when she jump-scared him as he walked around a corner. “It got the giblets going,” he said with a laugh. “It’s good, it’s good to be scared. It’s a great way to make you feel alive.” Kylie quipped back, “It got the juices flowing!” Fans were quick to flood the comments with laughter and plenty of agreement. “Jason Kelce on parenting: lie to your kids, scare your kids. It’s good for them!!!” one commenter joked. Another added, “Jason Kelce is every dad. Love this.” Others shared that scaring their own kids has become a family tradition, too. “My hubby’s notorious for scaring our kiddos since they were babies!” one fan wrote. “Scare the snot outta my kids is a memory they still talk about as young adults,” another said. It seems like Jason’s not alone — the art of the harmless dad scare is alive and well in households everywhere. And honestly, it’s peak Jason Kelce: Big heart, bigger laugh, and just enough chaos to keep everyone on their toes.
