Per the release from MVP: “Most Valuable Promotions and Netflix have announced that Jake Paul vs. Gervonta Davis, originally scheduled for Friday, November 14 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, will no longer be moving forward. ‘Our team has worked closely with all parties to navigate this situation responsibly,’ said Nakisa Bidarian, CEO of Most Valuable Promotions. ‘While we will not be moving forward with this event, our plan still remains for Jake Paul to headline an event on Netflix in 2025. However, Davis’ legal issues have clearly severely impacted the fight, leading to its cancellation. What is interesting about the release is that MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian indicated that Paul will find a new opponent, which is targeting a 2025 window. There are plenty of opponents that could step in to fight Paul, one of which is Anthony Joshua, who was supposed to fight Paul before Davis was named the opponent. Paul vs Canelo Alvarez might also be the play here, as the pair were set for a showdown. However, Alvarez chose instead to fight Terence Crawford. With Crawford winning, Alvarez might be more open to taking on Paul. Either way, there are plenty of opponents that are sure to come calling to take on the fight on short notice.
