KARACHI: Saylani Welfare International Trust’s long-standing efforts toward establishing an interest-free banking system in Pakistan—an initiative led by its founder, Maulana Bashir Farooq Qadri—have received global recognition. In this regard, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in Bahrain between the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI), a leading international training and standard-setting body, and Saylani Welfare International Trust. The collaboration aims to promote high-quality training and global standards in Islamic banking and finance, with a shared vision to eliminate interest from Pakistan’s economic system and transform it in accordance with Shariah principles.
