legislation still to be passed Guyana’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) which is headed by Guyana Defence Force Colonel Sheldon Howell bought espionage equipment, polygraph machines and other gadgets and resources totalling $150 million last year. According to the Public Procurement Commission website, the equipment included geolocation finders, ear buds, wristwatches, eyeglasses with hidden cameras, waterproof cameras and drone jammers. These were among a long list of items NISA procured under its capital expenditure budget for the 2024 fiscal period, the website said. And with the NISA Bill sitting with a Parliamentary Select Committee since 2023 after being heavily criticized by the former APNU+AFC opposition, Attorney General Anil Nandlall yesterday informed that it would be retabled during the 13th Parliament.
