Important decision made on the future of landmark building in Kilkenny

The planning authority has granted conditional planning permission to Ossory Diocesan Trust to complete planned works at St Mary's Cathedral, James' Street and Blackmill Street, Kilkenny. The planned works were permitted and commenced under a previous planning permission but were not completed before expiry of that permission. Also to be completed is the completion of the extension of the Chapter House Tea Rooms external seating area and the completion of the finishes to the roof of the basement kitchen. All works will take place in the grounds of St Mary's Cathedral.
