New Delhi: Activist Sonam Wangchuk's wife Gitanjali Angmo said, "A habeas corpus petition was filed on October 2nd and heard on October 6th, resulting in the release of the grounds of detention on October 7th. We have challenged the grounds of detention order. The Supreme Court has taken cognizance of it and accepted the petition and asked the govt of India to respond in 10 days. We now await their response." She also says, "The whole detention order is based on 10-11 videos and 5 FIRs, of which 4 are on other people alleged to be his supporters, but he doesn't even know them. One FIR that is in his name pertains to things from 2024, for which he was not even arrested. Some of the videos in this context are 1.5 years old and some are on the day before the incident took place. None of the videos can be taken as the cause for the violence that erupted."
