Mukund Agiwal, who achieved the top rank in the CA exam, the results of which were announced on Monday, scored an impressive 500 out of 600 marks, which is 83.33 per cent. A native of Dhamnod in Dhar district, Madhya Pradesh, his father, Pawan Agiwal, operates a stationery shop, while his mother, Jyoti Agiwal, is a housewife. Mukund defied expectations and secured All India Rank 1 in the CA final results. Despite financial constraints, his had big dreams. His father’s aspiration was for Mukund to become a Chartered Accountant. When Mukund had to choose his subjects in the 10th grade, he and his father decided that he would pursue a career as a CA. He completed his primary education at Gurukul School in Dhamnod and passed his 12th grade in Commerce and Math in 2021. During that year, the COVID-19 pandemic made travel impossible, so Mukund completed his entire CA Foundation degree from home, scoring 344 out of 400 marks. He then moved to Indore, joined a coaching institute, and achieved AIR-24 in CA Intermediate. After completing his intermediate degree, Mukund relocated to Pune, where he studied at a leading institute and took separate online coaching for each subject for the final exam. “I didn’t study any concepts superficially. I deeply understood and memorised every little detail,” Mukund told News18 Hindi. CA requires a three-year articleship between the intermediate and final exams, although this has now been reduced to two years. Mukund’s course required a three-year articleship. He balanced his studies with his articleship, attending office during the day, coaching at night, and studying on his own. He took his final exam at the Indore centre and secured AIR-1. He explains that he never focused on just one subject and took separate coaching for each subject, selecting the best teachers for Accountancy, Law, Tax, and Audit. He revised even small concepts repeatedly. Mukund now aims to establish himself in the CA industry, starting with work experience before eventually launching his own practice. In the CA final results, the All India Rank 2 has been secured by Tejas Mundada from Hyderabad with 492 marks or 82 per cent and third rank by Bakul Gupta from Alwar who scored 489 marks or 81.50 per cent.
