A man has been charged after an attack on a train in Huntingdon that left eleven people injured, with one critically ill in hospital following the incident. On Monday (November 3), Anthony Williams, 32, from Peterborough, was charged with 10 counts of attempted murder, one count of actual bodily harm and one count of possession of bladed article following a knife attack on a train in Cambridgeshire on Saturday, British Transport Police said. He is also charged with another count of attempted murder and possession of a bladed article in connection to an incident at Pontoon Dock DLR station in the early hours of the same day. Deputy Chief Constable Stuart Cundy said: "The criminal investigation and support for the victims is a priority for British Transport Police. "Our investigation is also looking at other possible linked offences. Following the charges authorised by the Crown Prosecution Service, I would stress the importance of not saying or publishing anything which might jeopardise or prejudice ongoing criminal proceedings, or the integrity of the investigation." British Transport Police declared a major incident when the train came to a stop in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, after passengers pulled the emergency alarms and two men were arrested eight minutes after police were called at 7.42pm. Eleven people were injured, with one man still in critical condition in hospital. British Transport Police confirmed on Sunday (November 2) that two men had been arrested, but a 35-year-old man from London had been released with no further action. They said that within eight minutes of officers being called to the incident, one of the men was believed to have been shot with a Taser by police after brandishing a knife. Police are understood to be investigating all circumstances, including whether mental health was a factor but it is not believed to have been a terrorist incident. Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood is expected to make a statement about the attack in the House of Commons on Monday afternoon. This is a breaking news incident.
