Former national cyclist Cyril Hunte has expressed optimism about the future of junior cycling in Guyana, despite the sport’s ongoing challenges with resources and infrastructure. The US-based veteran said that events like the recently concluded Linden Leg of the Memorial Races serve as a vital source of motivation and exposure for the country’s young riders. “It is a great motivation factor from my point of view to see young men, despite the equipment we have, despite the lack of knowledge and technology, racing at a very good level,” Hunte explained. “A few little pointers here and there and I think they can maximize their efforts and ultimately represent Guyana strongly across the planet.”
